Federal Election Reform
Americans deserve complete transparency and confidence in the federal election process.
Today, sadly, we have neither.
I believe that federal elections should be conducted uniformly throughout the states. I believe that the delegate process and the Electoral College process should be eliminated.
Every person in America should have one vote that is equal to every other person’s vote. There is no need for the various layers of voting for electors, who then vote for blocks of votes, or for the majority of voters in a district. Having the layers of voting using electors and delegates, only invites corruption and fraud, and it is simple enough these days to count the popular vote. One person, one vote, all being equal. Simple stuff.
Well, maybe not quite that simple, we will have to create a new amendment to The Constitution to institute a popular vote that elects the President, which would make null the 12th amendment. It is time for election reform and if a Constitutional change is in order, then the effort to do so is worthwhile; it has been done twice before on the same issue. I will take on that task.
